19:00-20:30 – “Tap Up” your solo jazz – Advanced solo jazz class
In this class, we will look for inspiration in tap dance vocabulary to add extra rhythms in basic solo jazz steps. From simple rhythmic changes to more complex rhythms inspired by Harold Nicholas and Marie Bryant or the Copasetics. Maybe we will have time for some rhythm turns, too. The aim of the class is not only to learn a new variation but to incorporate it into our dancing.
20:45-22:00 – Rhythms & Solo Jazz – Open Level
In this class, we will focus on the rhythms of basic jazz steps and possible rhythmic variations. The goal of this class will be to expand the repertoire, work on precision and ability to communicate while dancing, get inspired by each other and add your rhythmic ideas to traditional jazz steps.
In case you sign up for the Advanced Solo Jazz class, you are welcome to stay for the Open Level class free of charge.
More on the background of Bára
Barbora “Bára” Hřebačková makes her living through dance. An early dancer, she Hip Hopped her way into Tap, Charleston and Jazz dance, growing in all these styles in Prague, Czech Republic. Currently, she lives and works in Brussels, Belgium where she further develops her tap dance technique and voice with the help of her mentor Josh Hilberman. You can find her teaching regular classes in Brussels and Gent or at dance workshops around Europe.
