How the waiting list works
In partner dancing, we need a roughly equal number of leads and follows in each class. When one role has too many sign-ups compared to the other, the extra people are placed on the waiting list. Here is an example of 3 leads that have signed up, but 5 follows, which places 2 follows on the waiting list, until more leads sign up:
In the example above, there are 3 leads and 5 follows. The 2 extra follows (shown in red) are placed on the waiting list. As soon as more leads sign up, the waiting list follows are automatically approved.
How to skip the waiting list
If you get someone of the opposite role to sign up and they write your email in the "Register with a partner" field, you will both be approved straight away — regardless of the waiting list.
Near the end of the sign-up period, SwingShoes also tries to find helping leads or follows to make sure as many people as possible get on the course.
If you are still on the waiting list when the course/workshop starts, your purchase will be refunded immediately.
