Boogie Woogie is a lively partner dance created in the mid 80s. Like many other partner dances it has got it roots in Lindy Hop.

Boogie Woogie is danced to fun and energetic  music from the 40s to early 60s. Jump Blues, Rhythm and Blues, Doo Wop, Boogie and Rock and Roll. Genres you always find yourself tapping  your feet to.

It is contagious.  <3

Boogie Woogie is a dance with its roots in Lindy Hop as many other dances are. The idea behind Boogie Woogie dance began in the mid 1980s with inspiration from the movies Rock Around The Clock and Dont Knock the Rock. 1956.

Boogie Woogie is a 6 count dance, just like Jitterbug  in Europe during its heydays, 40s, 50s and early 60s, and we use music from that period: Boogie Woogie, Rhythm and Blues, Rock and Roll, Doo Wop and Jump Blues. Music from the late 40s to the early 60s.

This partner dance is a very lively and energic dance with lot of fun variations and footwork. We will at this course teach you all about the fundemental stuff you need to know to go out there and dance dance dance.

This level is for complete beginners who has either no knowledge or very little, however, if you already are familar with other swing dances, please feel free to join. The tempo will initially be slow and gradually we will raise the bar and the tempo. You will end having an immense smile, joy and feeling of “hell ya”. Elena and I are looking so much forward to give all you newbies and great experience and tons of joy.
