On Ascension Day, we'll put Boogie Woogie in focus. There will be two workshops - which is targeted for either Boogie Woogie dancers or swing dancers.
And afterwards we'll have a Boogie Woogie social dance.
Welcome to Blues Fundamentals! This course is for anyone who would like to dive into the world of blues. Everyone is welcome, whether you’re an experienced blues dancer or completely new and curious.
To keep the classes relevant for multiple levels, we explore different themes each round. In this round we will focus on the great variety that exists within blues music and blues dancing. Example topics are ballroom blues, slow drag, latin blues, Chicago triples and energetic, funky moves. Some styles will be in close embrace, others will be further apart with more space for individual movement. In the beginning of the round, we will make a vote where you can give input on which styles you’re particularly keen on trying.
Partner rotation will be the default in this class as in any other class, and we generally think this is a great way to learn and get to know people in the community. However, if you want to share the dance with a fixed partner, you are welcome to do so.
