On Ascension Day, we'll put Boogie Woogie in focus. There will be two workshops - which is targeted for either Boogie Woogie dancers or swing dancers.
And afterwards we'll have a Boogie Woogie social dance.
Welcome to Blues Fundamentals! This course is for anyone who would like to dive into the world of blues. Everyone is welcome, whether you’re an experienced blues dancer or completely new and curious. To keep the classes relevant for multiple levels, we explore different themes each round.
In this round we will focus on creating smooth, effortless flow. We’ll explore how to connect movements and transitions so the dance feels like one continuous motion, rather than a series of separate steps. We will work on timing, balance and connection to help you move with more fluidity and musicality on the dance floor. We will also give individual feedback for anyone who would like that.
Partner rotation will be the default in this class as in any other class, and we generally think this is a great way to learn and get to know people in the community. However, if you want to share the dance with a fixed partner, you are welcome to do so.
