How did you start dancing?
I had always wanted to start dancing since I was little but never found “the dance” for me. A friend suggested Lindy Hop and I’ve been hooked since 2019!
What do you love most about teaching?
Seeing that aha-moment when something difficult finally clicks. I know that feeling well and I love seeing students enjoying a new move they found difficult just a moment before.
What does swing dancing mean to you?
Personal expression and connection. In Lindy Hop you can really connect on appreciating and celebrating each other’s personal expression through the music and the partnership.
What’s your favourite jazz song or artist?
I have to be honest, I always forget to write down the songs I enjoy. I do have a special connection with Catherine Russell’s “As Long as I live”.
Fun fact or secret talent?
I learned to play the accordion as a kid and I’ve been trying to relearn on and off as a grown up. It’s hard! But such a fun instrument.
