How did you start dancing?

I began Lindy Hopping due to The Danish documentary “The Call of The Jitterbug” from 1988. About 8 years later I, more or less, took my first Lindy Steps in London with Simon Selmon. Meeting Frankie Manning in 1997 and I saw the light. I knew this dance was for me.

What do you love most about teaching?

To pass on my knowledge to the next generation of dancers who want to understand and learn about this 'street dance', which will give you so much joy and happiness as well as smile and positivity. Nothing feels better than a great swing out.

What does swing dancing mean to you?

Lindy Hop is 'my god, my light'. It is full of exuberance of joy and happiness. I have never experienced such freedom within a dance as Lindy Hop.

What’s your favourite jazz song or artist?

Without a doubt: The real King of Swing - Chic Webb. Listen to Savoy.

Fun fact or secret talent?

I began Swingshoes almost 30 years, ago, together with Jan 'Stompin'.
