How did you start dancing?

I have always loved to dance and in 2017, when I was writing my master thesis at DTU, I signed up for several dance classes in the university dance club, among which one was Lindy Hop and I got hooked instantly.

What do you love most about teaching?

I feel very fortunate and privileged to be able to share my passion for Lindy Hop with others. I love seeing when someone gets as hooked as I did when I started.

What does swing dancing mean to you?

Lindy Hop means so many things to me. First of all, it’s where all my friends are. The Copenhagen Lindy Hop community is wonderful and I value the social aspect very much. Also, dancing has an overall positive impact on my life, both physically and mentally. I really enjoy my own Lindy Hop journey, deepening my understanding of what Lindy Hop is, learning new skills, and practicing the dance. Last but not least, I love jazz music!

What’s your favourite jazz song or artist?

My recent favorite is Harlem Air Shaft by Duke Ellington from the 1961 album Piano in the Background (Expanded Edition). Exciting buildup and storytelling in the melody, which feels like a whole journey. Many playful call & response moments. Particularly, I love the slow and draggy tenor saxophone in the second chorus. And of course, the ending 💥

Fun fact or secret talent?

My first “dance” was Aerobics when I was 6, because I didn’t like to be in the local football team and Aerobics was the other option where I grew up.
