How did you start dancing?
I tried out Lindy Hop back in 2019 and thought it was awesome. After Covid I started really getting into it, going dancing multiple times every week and loving every second of it. That part hasn't changed a bit, but now I also dance a lot of Blues and Balboa, which are amazing dances as well.
What do you love most about teaching?
It's incredibly rewarding to see students progressing throughout a round or even in a single class. In particular, I appreciate the opportunity to help when a student has questions about a move or a concept that they find challenging.
What does swing dancing mean to you?
Swing dancing means a lot to me. It's a great way to express yourself creatively. You get to enjoy fantastic music and interpret it in your own way by playing around with rhythms, figures, stylings, etc. On top of that you get to connect with a dance partner and create some cool moments together. That's what it's all about to me.
What’s your favourite jazz song or artist?
My favorite jazz (blues) song is Chris Stapleton's version of Tennessee Whiskey. I'm also a big fan of B.B. King.
Fun fact or secret talent?
I always like a challenge. One of the more recent ones has been singing, which I've come to absolutely love.
