Lindy Hop Social Dance

Lace up your dancing shoes and join SwingShoes for a Monday night of lindy hop at Krystalsalen! This is a social dance - no class, no teacher, just wonderful swing music and a floor full of people with one thing in common: they're here to dance.

Come alone, come with friends, come as you are. A partner is not a requirement - most people walk in on their own. Ask someone for a song or two, say thank you, and move on to someone new. By the end of the evening you'll have shared dances with familiar faces and brand new ones.

Every level is welcome. Whether last week was your very first workshop or you've been at it for years, there's a spot for you on the floor. Lead, follow or switch between the two - and if you feel like dancing on your own, solo jazz fits any swing tune.

A few small things that keep the floor a great place to be:

• Ask freely, and take a "no thank you" with a smile - it's never personal.
• Dance to your partner's level, and keep your moves small when it gets crowded.
• Come fresh, go easy on the perfume, and bring a spare shirt - it gets warm out there.
