Blues Social Dance

Blues has a way of pulling you in - slow, connected, and full of feeling. Lace up your shoes and come share the floor with us at Loungen this Thursday. No class, no teacher, just great music and a room full of people who showed up for exactly the same reason: to dance.

Come alone, come with friends, come as you are. A partner is not required - most people walk in on their own. Ask someone for a song or two, say thank you, and move on to someone new. By the end of the evening you will have danced with familiar faces and people you had never met before.

Every level is welcome. Whether your first blues workshop was last week or you have been on the floor for years, there is a place for you here. Lead, follow or switch between the two - and if you feel like moving on your own, solo jazz sits just as comfortably in any swing tune.

A few small things that help keep the floor a happy place for everyone:

• Ask freely, and take a "no thank you" with a smile - it is never personal.
• Dance to your partner's level, and keep your moves small when it gets crowded.
• Come fresh, go easy on the perfume, and bring a spare shirt - it gets warm out there.
