Dan

Dan joined a swing club in college thinking "if old people can do it, I'll be fine." A year later, he'd fallen in love with dance and jazz. He loves playing show-and-tell with his favourite parts of the art. A big fan of Ella & Duke, he used to be a cowboy.

Sean

Sean discovered Lindy Hop at a social in 2018 and never looked back. For him, it's the ultimate expression of freedom and joy. A former physiotherapist, he loves watching people learn. Big fan of Benny Goodman's Flyin' Home—he once played drums in a punk rock band!

Hanna

Hanna was pulled to a social dance by her sister one night and has been on dance floors around the world since! Swing means liberation, connection, and expression. She loves seeing dancers find their voice through movement. A fan of Ella Fitzgerald, she's a rubber band fight champion!

Joris

Joris discovered Lindy Hop at Copenhagen's Commedia School in 2006. It's letting go, expression, feeling lighter. He loves the teaching exchange—humble and respectful. Big fan of Count Basie, he teaches by day and plays trombone in Berlin's swing octet by night!

Davide

Davide discovered Lindy Hop through his ex-girlfriend who suggested it over Tango. His love for jazz made it a perfect fit, and he became obsessed with the dance, music, and community. He loves teaching and sharing his evolving knowledge with students. A Billie Holiday fan and D&D nerd!

Per

Per discovered Lindy Hop through a 1988 Danish documentary, then took his first steps in London. Meeting Frankie Manning in 1997 sealed his fate. He calls it 'my god, my light' - pure joy and freedom. He loves passing knowledge to new dancers. A Chick Webb fan, he co-founded Swingshoes 30 years ago!

Namiko

Namika discovered Lindy Hop at a Copenhagen festival and never looked back. It's joy, freedom, and connection beyond words. She loves seeing dancers light up in class. A big fan of Mary Lou Williams, she only started dancing after moving from Japan in her thirties - party meant karaoke back then!

Monica

Monica started when her aunt convinced her to try a beginner workshop - she had low expectations but was completely blown away! For her it means friendship and freedom, a space to let go and enjoy the moment. She loves seeing people light up when they feel the dance's joy. An Illinois Jacquet fan, she's also a scuba diver!

Helena

Helena discovered Lindy Hop when she moved to a new city and googled dance classes, choosing the one with the best music. It's expression, connection, and endless learning. She loves watching students grow and discover new moves. A fan of "Clarinet Creole," she secretly loves organizing and won a Bugg competition at 11!
