October workshops with Hanna & Sean

Rhythm is the foundation of Lindy Hop. Using simple variations to our basic 8 count footwork we can add texture and intrigue to our dancing. Here we will explore the rhythmic landscape of 6 and 8 count Lindy.

Intermediate Air Steps -  This class is for you if your partnership can safely and comfortably execute an A-frame, frog jump and/or toss out. (Or if you attended our AirSteps Foundations workshop.) We’ll share how to safely navigate the training process for an intermediate airstep and offer ideas for incorporating these steps into your dancing. Partner required! We will not be rotating partners in class.

GO GO GO! this class will help dancers train to dance to faster tempos 200BPM and above. We will begin slow discussing ways to manage energy and what changes one makes to improve fast dancing efficiency... then we will turn up the heat!

A deep dive into charleston options including an entrance, exit, and exciting variations/turns.

Connecting with a partner is an essential component of Lindy Hop. Here we will explore some lead/follow skills regarding connection then follow with a sequence to demonstrate what was learned

A theme-based solo jazz workshop for dancers with at least half a year of experience. Build confidence in your solo movement and get comfortable moving in your own body through rhythms, textures and vernacular vocabulary.

Expected the unexpected in this class about redirections. Here we will provide examples of redirections, discuss opportunities for redirection, and practice the technique for leading and following moves that require consistency for beliveable execution.
